On Monday went with my mother to her medical checkup. Had to take a shuttle bus in from Yishun and you can guess the hospital's name. Funny thing was there was this China lady that also queued up for the bus, and the queue was pretty long, and she came over and flooded me with questions.
Since it was my first time there, let my mother answer those questions like, "How many times you take this bus already?" "How long is the wait?" "How do you think this service can be further improved" and the list just goes on until I asked her whether is she a reporter and she said yes. My mother was kind of shocked and started to complain a lot of stuffs to her. -_- And isn't sure if the article will be published on Tuesday but I doubt it so I guess it'll be on Wednesday in Chinese. In addition, there was this elderly uncle who also flooded her with complaints/feedbacks/suggestions that she took out her notepad and jotted it down.
Does not end here. The hospital look pretty up-to-standard and my mother and I went to visit the Orthopedist and turns out to be a Tamil woman dressed in her sari? Never in my life have I seen a doctor in a hospital dressed like that. And the audacity to talk so loudly and not address patients by their name or salutation. She was so stressed I was there because I kept flooding all my doubts to her and why can't alternatives be considered.
Speaking of weird docs, I've met a lot of them in private practice. There's one whose table was so messy with newspapers and magazines and wore a really short Bermudas. Most were TCM docs and personally, I've been to countless TCM docs and I find them kind of weird with no pun intended. Let's cite a few examples:
-I've met a practitioner who rubs powder on my palm for more than an hour for the increase of appetite.
-I've been to a place where they keep 'sucking' blood out, claiming its releasing toxins in our body.
-I've met a practitioner who keep asking patients to be in a room and smell those herbal thingies for more than an hour.
-I've met a practitioner who's a bone-settler and kept talking about politics.
Despite all these, I find them sometimes more effective than western medicinal practices. TCM normally will be treated on a long term basis without any side-effects while Western ones are short term and will have side-effects.
Ok random topic aside, today I was supposed to attend the 2 Jade's gathering but I gave it a miss. Had dinner at Sigmund's house instead, I just thought of a perfect gift for Christmas for him.
I also received news of Sengkang Punggol FC being renamed Hougang United. I think its a really good name-change initiative and Gombak's going to follow, perhaps abandoning Gombak since its home ground is at Pioneer, might just be Pioneer United? LOL. And Home United spending a lot of money buying players like Mendy, Arai, Harun. SAFFC already has Fazrul, Hammond and Savic. Savic was in the Barcelona U-18 team a few years back. And they are also hunting a Croatian striker who had World Cup exposure. O.o sounds like it will pack-a-punch.
And last night, Arsenal lost to Manchester United by a goal via penalty at Old Trafford. I think Szczesny did a great job holding the score stalemate till 12 minutes from time and to concede via a penalty, this guy deserves a huge push as a custodian.
