Just heard that the SAF Warriors will face the Hougang Cheetahs on Sunday evening. Not sure if I will be able to watch the friendly match. I want to have a sneak preview of the revamped squad of SAF and Hougang United.
Addition of talented midfield maestro Luka Savic (Left pic, in Spain's No. 21 Jersey) from Young Lions. Since SAF has already 4 foreigners, he'll play in the Prime League but if any of the 4 foreigners is injured, he'll replace them.
Boost to the defensive back-line, Bah Mamadou (Right pic, captain of Gombak Utd), a naturalised Singaporean joins the centre-backs in SAF with his wealth of defensive knowledge.
Another addition to the centre-backs is Daniel Hammond (Left pic, tall bald Englishman in the center). He'll join the likes of Bennett and Mamadou, forming a formidable defensive line.
With the absence of Ahmad Latiff on the flanks, Fazrul Nawaz (Right pic) can cover the duties as well with more of an offensive mindset.
And an unknown Croatian to join them in the front. Will he be reliable to SAFFC than Federico Martinez?
From the looks of it, the old 4-4-2 formation will just be either a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 but it may be hard to get used to it because in their previous friendly against Sabah, SAF was down 2-0 but they scored 3 more goals within 7 minutes to win the match with their 4-4-2 formation again. I can't wait to watch them next season =)
